Bill Buchanan Pinch-Hitting for Pete Ratto (with apologies for errors and omissions caused when junior hunter “Whisper Ridge Back with a Vengeance” AKA “Journey” lived up to his name and knocked over a full glass of iced tea and wiped out my notes).

Patricia Fripp:

Her guest was Brian Head, newly retired thought-leader in education in 1974, he lived on Geary Street.

Lt. General Mike Rocco (USCMC-Ret) :

Our host and President and CEO of the Marines Memorial Association and Foundation. The Marines Memorial Club and Hotel now is partially open. Food service is back, but no alcohol except with meals.

Richard Wank:

Retired in Dublin. Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Paddy O ’Furniture.

Betty Taisch:

Dressed in green attire, she claimed to be half Irish on her grandparents’ side. Her movie recommendation is “The Dig,” about excavating in 1939 a sunken Anglo-Saxon warship buried in the mud. Yesterday, she visited the Hila (SP?) exhibit at DeYoung Museum. She wondered how smart phone-challenged people navigate SFO. Answer: they walk.

Ylma Gutierrez:

Appreciates being a member of the GGBC because she learns so much from the other members. Her business, Ylma Gutierrez Fremont MAACO, was featured by commercial interests in Fremont. Don’t forget, “When your car looks good, you look good. “

Jim Prost:

Another Frippette who got news from the Chancellor at UC Berkeley that in-person classes will resume next Fall. He founded executive education programs at USF and University of Chicago.

Susan RoAne

This best-selling author was wearing jewelry appropriate for St. Patrick’s Day. “Mazeltov” is a Jewish phrase expressing congratulations or wishing someone good luck. Mazeltov, everybody! She went to Molly Stone’s and bought corned brisket. A butcher in New York City bought it from a Kosher butcher. Mayor Daly turned the Chicago River green.

Steven Campbell:

Author of Tame Your Mind: Unleash Your Life digital courses is a Professor at University of San Francisco. Free advice--be careful what you tell your brain: if will remember.

Brian Wagner:

Doesn’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at his house, only his wife’s birthday. He endorses Steven Campbell’s philosophy about what you tell your brain.

Tim Durkin, aka Will Rogers:

Another Frippette who joined us all the way from Granbury, Texas via Zoom. Dennis is Gaelic for genius. Texas is open for business. When an incident occurred, someone asked if anyone knew CPR. Tim called out, “I know CPR and the rest of the alphabet.”

Michael Sera:

Another proud Frippette joining us from the South Bay advised: Use Zoom to make everyone smaller. He is observing the tenth anniversary of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster earthquake and tsunami. He currently is involved with a company that allows testing of products out of the box. Two shops in Tokyo.

Tana Hope:

Advisor to those bent on improving their posture, she joined us all the way from Bellingham, Washington. She has not been using glasses for three months. Exercise your eyeballs by rolling your eyes around.

Derek Arden:

Joined the meeting all the way from London, England. Past speaker at the GGBC. News flash—no daylight savings time in London.

Patricia Fripp:

She asked Derek whether that means she should arrive in London at 8:00 instead of 9:00. Celebrating one + years of the web show. Cyber security and payroll.

Tony Woodall:

Partnering up with Derek Arden on a Podcast. Vin Antico launched a new eatery at 881 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901. Java House is opening more and more locations. Famous Frankie’s Burger Dogs.

Hedy Kaveh:

SFO still hasn’t fully opened due to the pandemic. Use a green background on Zoom.

Ray Siotto:

Your Treasurer with a Heart. Old returning members—please pay your dues. Send to Ray by check or Zelle.

Joel Panzer:

Visited his boat “Happy Pappy,” and found her shipshape. When he started his management business long ago, all the contractors were Irish. He asked why. The answer? No clue. Wiped out by “Journey.”

Tom Smegal: (SP)

Zoomed in from Piedmont. In the 60s (1860s) not playing golf. For 57 years he had an office In San Francisco, now in Piedmont. By the way, Tom Jacobs is late.

Tom Jacobs:

Has developed a green dental implant for those avid St. Patty’s Day celebrants. He joined some other folks in a car parade down Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Marin County to protest a proposed name change by “social activists.” One car sported a sign that read: BLM—British Lives Matter.

Les Anderson:

Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco can use cars, pickups, wheelbarrows, and cash. Perhaps bitcoin.

Jim Simpson:

Good morning, everyone.

Hugh Tuck:

Courtesy of “Journey”: Emer eye want green sep call co new furnace. Probably lying

Steve Shane:

Commercial real estate broker. Daughter’s two baby showers were held on the Zoom platform—35 women each.

Christine Torrington:

Semi-retired photographer and second female member of the GGBC thanks to Patricia Fripp’s inspiring leadership. She knows many languages and translates the drinking toast “Slainte” (pronounced Slanga) as “to your health.”

Sidney Mobell:

Honored in the Smithsonian for his exceptional jewelry expertise, Sidney is enjoying his 95thyear in good spirits and good health. Among other accomplishments is his authorship of the book From an Orphanage to the Smithsonian: Sidney Mobell, Honored in The Smithsonian.

Christopher Wiseman:

Zoomed in from Santa Fe, New Mexico where he has purchased a house and executed an “amazing” garage remodel. He will host a number of guests next week.

President Craig Adams:

Assures us he considers his position an honor and a labor of love. We love you too, Mr. President, for exhibiting exceptional leadership during the pandemic.
