Susan Farren is a published author, speaker, humorist, and Founder of First Responders Resiliency, Inc.® (FRRI). After a 31-year career as a paramedic, consultant, and educator, Susan was diagnosed with what was initially thought to be terminal cancer. She survived that diagnosis and used that experience as inspiration to piece together the research on how stress and trauma affect first responders.
She then used the sale of her home in late 2017 for the seed money that founded FRRI, a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to training active and retired first responders, as well as their families, in an evidence-based, proactive approach to mitigating symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress.
A regularly sought-after inspirational speaker and a published author of Responder Resiliency, An Owner's Manual, Susan is committed to changing the first responder culture by Putting PTSD Out of Business®.
