A professor at the Fromm Institute at the University of San Francisco, John is renowned for his deep insights into local, state, national, and international politics. With a distinguished career that spans both Republican and Democratic circles, John is a champion of civic engagement, passionately serving We, the People.

A graduate of Whittier College with a B.A. in Political Science (1970) and an M.A. in Teaching (1971), John has worked on numerous political campaigns, including Richard Nixon’s 1968 presidential campaign. He is also a published author and an expert in American political history, the Middle East, and education. His personal library, boasting over 13,000 volumes, is a vital resource for researchers and professors alike.

John is a frequent lecturer on American politics and the presidency, having spoken at over 150 campuses across the United States, Canada, and Israel. Since 2004, he has been a professor at the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning. In the 1970s, he played a pivotal role in San Francisco’s campaign to free Soviet Jewry. He is also the co-author of the book Icon of Evil.

Currently, John hosts the Around the Political World podcast, available on Apple and Spotify, where he continues to deliver his sharp analysis of current events.
