Hedy Kaveh was born in Tehran, Iran in 1958. He started exploring Europe in 1973 and eventually moved to the Bay Area in 1976, where has been living ever since.

At 17 years old, without having taken any English language classes, Hedy began studying at Dominican College of San Rafael. He graduated from Sacramento State University with a B.S. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Shortly thereafter, he started his own business, Audio Symphony, in 1981. Eight years later, in 1989, Hedy joined the GGBC.
